The process
How we do it.

Flatten
Heavy-cut diamond pads flatten lippage between tiles and remove the original factory finish.

Hone
Progressive honing pads (200–800 grit) clarify the stone and remove all visible scratches.

Polish
Final polishing pads (1500–3000 grit) build the mirror gloss. The stone polishes itself. No wax, no coating.

Seal
An impregnating sealer protects the polish.

Stone polishing: what people ask.
Is polished stone slippery?
It can be when wet. We add anti-slip additives to the sealer for bathrooms and pool surrounds. For dry indoor floors, polished stone is no more slippery than tile.
Can you polish stone in place?
Yes. Almost everything we polish is done in situ. We bring industrial dust extraction so the room stays clean.
How much does stone polishing cost in Melbourne?
Stone polishing varies by stone type, area, and existing condition. Residential floors are quoted from photos, and commercial entries and retail floors are priced on scope after a site inspection. Send us a photo or call for an indicative range before booking.
How long does polished stone stay polished?
The gloss comes from the stone itself, so there is no coating to wear through. With pH-neutral cleaning a polished floor holds its finish well; busy areas eventually need a refresh. We will tell you honestly when your stone needs re-polishing vs re-sealing.
What stone types can you polish?
Marble, granite, limestone, travertine, terrazzo, and most natural stone. The process is the same, progressive diamond grit stages, but the depth of polishing and sealer choice vary by stone density and finish preference. We don't polish engineered stone or porcelain (they need different tooling).
