What we see
around Brighton.
Bayside stone lives a harder life than stone five kilometres inland. Salt carries in off the water, sand gets walked across every surface, and UV exposure is constant, so sealers here break down measurably faster. Brighton has a lot of limestone and travertine around pools and alfresco areas, which is the most vulnerable combination there is: soft stone, wet traffic and full sun on the same surface.
Common work here
- Pool surround limestone and travertine resealed
- Alfresco and outdoor entertaining areas
- Salt and efflorescence removal

Brighton questions
Asked
around here.
Why does my pool surround need resealing again already?
Bayside exposure. Full sun, salt and constant wet traffic can pull a pool surround down to a 2–3 year cycle where a shaded indoor floor runs 7 or more. That is usually the location doing it, not a failed product.
Can you remove the white marks from limestone around the pool?
Usually. White marks are normally efflorescence, which is mineral salt migrating out of the stone rather than staining sitting on top of it. Scrubbing harder makes no difference. It needs the right treatment and then a sealer that still lets the stone breathe.
